How to Make a Cheap Multitouch Pad
Have you ever wanted make a multitouch pad yourself? Now you can make it and it is so easy that you can do it in just a few minutes. It will only cost you $5-$50 depending on the availability of the required material at your home. It mostly uses material that is readily available inĀ  most of the households. You need to have:

  • Piece of Clear Flat Sturdy Material (ie. Glass, acrylic, plexiglas)
  • Paper (ie. printer paper, tracing paper, almost any paper)
  • Webcam or Video Camera (I use a Philips SPC900NC)
  • Computer (dual core recommended, but not needed)
  • Optional Picture Frame
  • And a Finger Tracking software like Touchlib. Touchlib is needed to use front illumination XML file.

The Touchlib works on only PCs for now but there are plans to launch a Mac version soon. Watch the video below to see how to make a cheap Multitouch Pad at your home.
