The Nokia N97 introduces the concept of ‘social location’. With integrated A-GPS sensors and an electronic compass, the Nokia N97 mobile computer intuitively understands where it is. The Nokia N97 makes it easy to update social networks automatically with real-time information, giving approved friends the ability to update their ‘status’ and share their ‘social location’ as well as related pictures or videos.

At a price of about $600, it is still much better and cheaper than the New iPhone 3G-S. TestFreaks rate the Nokia N97 9.4 out of 10, CNet gave it a score of 3.5 stars out of 5 and PhoneMag describes the phone as a serious, business-like phone.

You have already seen the Darth Vadar Alarm Clock and now you would like to have something from the ‘Force’. Build yourself a Star Wars R2-D2 robot and control it using an iPhone. Sounds interesting, doesn’t it?. The work of this iPhone controlled R2-D2 robot is still progress though it can be fully controlled with a standard remote as of now. But, the creator is working on making it 100% controllable using the iPhone’s interface. For now, only the servo and the dome motor can be controlled using iPhone’s accelerometer and slider control on the touch screen of iPhone. The maker of this iPhone controllable R2-D2 robot plans to make the Dome motor, Feet motors, Holo servo, door panel servos, JEDI system control (lights), Periscope , Lifeform scanner etc. controllable using just the iPhone and he is working on it. Other touch screen controls are possible too such as rotary controls, buttons, XY controls, and multitouch as well as gestures. One should be able to interface with the J.E.D.I display as well and type in text messages in the iPhone that will scroll across the front or rear logic displays. Check out the videos below to see how the dome rotate and the servo rotation work using an iPhone.

The iPhone is the King of Cool, the Sheikh of Chic, the Madonna of must have gadgets at the moment, and for those who want a superior mobile experience this is largely because of the wealth of software that is available for the iPhone. Thanks to the innovative and much lauded App Store, which allows you to buy and download one of thousands of inexpensive or free applications directly to your iPhone, the things you can do on the go is limitless. Here`s an ice cold, drop dead useful and fun top ten iPhone Apps.

Pandora Internet Radio – The best free app around, allowing you access to an infinite web of free music that builds a radio play list around your own tastes. A streaming success.

Wikipanion – Your one stop resource for all of the information in the world, Wikipedia, just got mobile thanks to this infinitely useful app.

iTalk – Turn your iPhone into a Dictaphone with this app, it`s also easy to transfer the files to your PC or Mac via the iPhone`s Wi-Fi connection.

FakeCalls – Ever needed an excuse to leave a meeting or a party? This app will send a fake call to your iPhone on demand whenever you want it.

Ocarina Want to look silly whilst playing soothing music from your iPhone? Ocarina is a neat app that allows you to use the microphone like a mouth piece, detecting when you blow on it and allowing you to manipulate the note that is produced using the touch screen.

iDial – Make your iPhone interface more old school with this app that turns the dialing visuals to make it look and operate like an ancient rotary phone. Very retro.

iAno – Creates a virtual piano keyboard on your iPhone`s screen allowing you to tinkle on the ivories wherever you are.

Most Wanted – If you`re interested in developments in law enforcement, this database of the FBI`s most wanted criminals is kept constantly up to date so that you are too.

Urban Spoon – An oldie but a goodie, Urban Spoon will help you to find the best local restaurants wherever you are in the world, as well as giving you access to user reviews.

Don`t Panic – This nice app, whilst not related to the Hitch Hiker`s Guide as some might initially think, provides you with a range of quotes and phrases to help you get though the most stressful of times.

The iPhone is such a popular and useful platform for apps for a number of reasons. Firstly there`s the 3G connection that allows fast downloads to make browsing and installing apps easy. Then there`s the powerful processor, large on board storage of either 8GB or 16GB and of course the accelerometer that allows you to tilt, shake and wave your i Phone around to interact with various apps. Finally the touch screen can register multiple simultaneous touches allowing for intuitive, easy to control interfaces.

It has been quite some since we last saw a walkman phone rolled out from Sony Ericsson. Well, Sony just launched a brand new Walkman phone to add to their series of Sony Ericsson Walkman phones. This phone dubbed the W205, will do all the usual stuff like displaying the album art with ID3 tags of the tracks that are playing and the phone also comes with a opera browser, bluetooth and a speaker phone. 1.8 inch display screen might be a little small in these times of iPhones and iPod touches but it looks much more stylish than the later. 1.3 megapixel camera with 2.2 X digital zoom and a video recorder ad to the grace of this Walkman phone. The Sony Ericsson W205 comes with 5 MB of memory with up to 2GB of memory expansion available via a M2 Card. It comes with a snap-on Speaker stand ad a FM Radio with integrated FM antenna. It comes in black color only and will hit select markets by the second quarter of this year. No word about the price though but it will surely be low as this a midrange phone.
The low sound of your Mobile phone can be problematic when you are listening to it outdoors. Most of the Phones come with a bit weak built-in Speaker which is great only indoors, but you can’t hear it loud enough outdoors and what if there is traffic noise to add to the annoyance? While this Sony Ericsson Bluetooth speaker can’t make the Mobile Phone loud enough to be heard even in traffic noise but it sure will make it louder and enhance the sound qulity of the music played too. The Bluetooth Speaker has a range of 32 feet and can controlled from the speaker itself. So, you don’t need to take both the Cell Phones and the speaker with, just take the Speaker with you and control the Music using it, but as long as you stay in the range. The designer of the MS500 Wireless Outdoor Speaker, Leonardo Salzedo said in a Press Release, “If I had to describe the MS500 speaker in three words, I would use the following; fun, compact and freedom.” The Speaker runs on AA batteries enough for a playback of up to 5 hours. There is no word about the price though and neither has Sony Ericsson said anything about the launch date.

LG Arena also called LG-KM900, which was announced by LG at the World Mobile Congress 2009 last month has now been launched Across Europe and 30 other Countries. LG’s Arena phone has a new 3D S-Class User Interface developed by LG. The 3D S-Class User Interface makes it the first of its kind to offer an exhilarating audio and video experience. The Multimedia phone is the first one in the market to use Dolby Mobile Technology developed by Dolby Laboratories, Inc. LG Arena sports a large 3.0-inch touchscreen with WVGA resolution. D1 recording capability makes it possible to record DVD-resolution videos at 120 frames per second and makes sure that the Picture quality doesn’t get reduced when you watch it on a Large LCD.

A full battery recharge gives you 30 hours of continuous music playback or 300 hours of standby time. Other features include a 5.0-megapixel camera, 3G HSDPA 7.2 networks, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, accelerometer sensor and Bluetooth among others.

A lot of games are being launched for iPhone. Some of them are for kids and some for serious gamers. The Assasin’s Creed will definitely come in the later category and is a Great game to play. After having success on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 – Assasin’s Creed is coming to iPhone. The game will be using the on-screen virtual pad for the controls. The Assassin’s Creed game for Mobile Phones was not that much of a success but let us hope that the iPhone version will take advantage of the Power of iPhone Gaming Platform and amaze its fans.

No matter how much Apple wants their phone not to be used to send and recieve files over bluetooth but users want it anyways. That’s why some users have created this application for iPhone. This small app called iBluetooth will enable you to send files to other bluetooth enabled device or another iPhone installed with the iBluetooth Application. You will need to have a jailbroken iPhone for this to work, so if you haven’t done yet, jailbreak right now. After you have jailbroken your iPhone, run Cydia and search for ‘iBluetooth’. Install it and start sharing files over bluetooth.

While you are playing games on your iPhone 3G, it becomes irritating that the speaker is blocked with you palms and you can’t enjoy the audio to its full. The same happens while you are watching Movies or Videos. We hope that Apple fixes this in the Next iPhone they manufacture. Meanwhile you can checkout this little mod for iPhone 3G that will solve this problem with the Sound.

The SoundClip is a passive sound enhancer which will amplify the iPhone’s audio by 10dB between 6kH and 20kHz. SoundClip directs sound from the Apple iPhone towards you to increase the clarity and volume for movies and music.

It doesn’t matter if you are blocking the iPhone’s built-in speaker while playing games, this small accessory will make sure that you hear the sound at full volume and quality at all times. If you are worried about how to carry this small accessory, you will be happy to know that its Storage is simple. A cord-gripping feature keeps SoundClip securely fastened to your charge cable during syncing and charging.

Mobile Phones were created so that people could use them in emergencies and make long distance calls. However due to recent rapid development in Mobile handsets, people have become addicted to using cell phones and do things with it that no one could have imagined. Here are some weird things people do with their Cell Phones.

Using Cell Phone as a Mirror

"LG saw that people are using the front camera of their Mobile Phones as Mirror and came up with this design

Most of the people use the front, Video Call Camera as a mirror to check on their hair style, put Lipstick on etc. As the UTMS cell phones are becoming cheaper day by day, these ‘mirrors’ are finding more and more users. Why not, for females this has omitted the need to carry a mirror, an extra equipment with them.

Using Phones as Flash Light

According to the GraphJam, about 75% People use Mobile Phones as a flash light. This is rather a good feature of cell phones, they come built-in with Flashs for the camera and doubles as flash lite when you need it in dark. It is because of this, Cell Phone Manufacturers all across the world are now bundling Torch lights into their low end Products too. The poll also show that only about 5% people use the phone to make call actually, 30% use it to check the time.

Track Spouses

A recent pole conducted by Microsoft showed that 42% People use the GPS service of their Cell Phones to keep track of the whereabouts of their Spouses. The GPS which was meant to help us find nearest routes, places and ourselves is being used to Check on cheating wives and Husbands, great.

As Memo

Many people use the camera of their mobie phones to take pictures of things they want to want. People take photographs of the toiletries so that it can help them buy the exact shades and products in the store. Clever use, isn’t it?

Use in Toilets

A survey on “How mobile are you”, commissioned by Microsoft’s Mobile Communications Business division, polled nearly 2500 respondents from five countries including Australia, China, India, Japan and Taiwan. According to this survey about half of Australian mobile users talk on their phones while using the toilet. The cell phone usage while using in countries like Taiwan and China was much more at 68% and 66% respectively. The survey also found out tha 58% of married females would check their partner’s SMS/caller list. The survey revealed that most of the younger people use phones while trying to Sleep.
