Action Comics Superman – The Most Expensive Comic Book
Ever heard of any person paying $317,200 for a comic book. John Dolmayan, the drummer for ‘System of a Down’ and owner of Torpedo Comics has paid $317,200 for a copy of the first edition of Action Comics which was first printed in June 1938. The comic book is famous for having the debut of the “Man of Steel” in its pages. ‘Comic Connect’ had estimated it to be worth $500,000, so the new owner has actually got a great deal. The Comic book would have cost 10 cent when it had hit the streets in 1938 and now, the auction started at $1 – A sum ten times higher than its real price back then. A total of 89 People bid on the Comic Book. The bids started going up during the first few days of the auction until it hit $277,000 and climbed the figures after some bidders elevated the figures.
