5 Weird Things People do with Mobile Phones
Mobile Phones were created so that people could use them in emergencies and make long distance calls. However due to recent rapid development in Mobile handsets, people have become addicted to using cell phones and do things with it that no one could have imagined. Here are some weird things people do with their Cell Phones.
Using Cell Phone as a Mirror

"LG saw that people are using the front camera of their Mobile Phones as Mirror and came up with this design
Most of the people use the front, Video Call Camera as a mirror to check on their hair style, put Lipstick on etc. As the UTMS cell phones are becoming cheaper day by day, these ‘mirrors’ are finding more and more users. Why not, for females this has omitted the need to carry a mirror, an extra equipment with them.
Using Phones as Flash Light
According to the GraphJam, about 75% People use Mobile Phones as a flash light. This is rather a good feature of cell phones, they come built-in with Flashs for the camera and doubles as flash lite when you need it in dark. It is because of this, Cell Phone Manufacturers all across the world are now bundling Torch lights into their low end Products too. The poll also show that only about 5% people use the phone to make call actually, 30% use it to check the time.
Track Spouses
A recent pole conducted by Microsoft showed that 42% People use the GPS service of their Cell Phones to keep track of the whereabouts of their Spouses. The GPS which was meant to help us find nearest routes, places and ourselves is being used to Check on cheating wives and Husbands, great.
As Memo
Many people use the camera of their mobie phones to take pictures of things they want to want. People take photographs of the toiletries so that it can help them buy the exact shades and products in the store. Clever use, isn’t it?
Use in Toilets
A survey on “How mobile are you”, commissioned by Microsoft’s Mobile Communications Business division, polled nearly 2500 respondents from five countries including Australia, China, India, Japan and Taiwan. According to this survey about half of Australian mobile users talk on their phones while using the toilet. The cell phone usage while using in countries like Taiwan and China was much more at 68% and 66% respectively. The survey also found out tha 58% of married females would check their partner’s SMS/caller list. The survey revealed that most of the younger people use phones while trying to Sleep.

I have two more weird things that I do with my flashlight…I mean phone!
1. Yesterday I was on-line with my laptop with an aircard, away from my printer and I checked my email to find that a retailer that sends me promos etc by email, sent me a coupon and I planned on going right away to that store. I couldn’t print it so I took a picture of the coupon with my phone and off to the store I went.
2. When I am in a store and find an item without a price, I use my phone to take a picture of a sale sign or inventory tag on the shelf so the cashier doesn’t have to do a price check or delay my transaction to get a SKU. If you take a really good picture, they can actually scan the SKU right off your phone screen.
Flashlight, Phone, Camera, SKU keeper, call it what you want, its permanently affixed to my palm!
@cellulachloe Thanks for dropping by. you have used your phone in two more amazing ways and proved that Cellphones aren’t just cellphones any more, they have become a very essential tool to perform day to day tasks more easily.
I have occassionally used the cellphone camera as a magnifying glass. Doesn’t work too well, but it does the job when I can’t find a magnifying glass.
I use it when I walk home at night from work, when I see a car coming I open it so the know i’m there.
i use my cellphone as a vibrator when i am feeling lonely
